Former Süd-Chemie catalyst business is now part of Clariant Corporation
Exhibit will showcase solutions for reducing exhaust emissions from combustion engines used for electrical power generation
Innovative Clariant catalysts help customers comply with federal, state and regional regulations
Muttenz, 27 November 2012 -The Swiss specialty chemicals group Clariant, represented by its business line Air Purification, part of its Catalysis & Energy business unit, will exhibit industry-leading emissions reduction catalysts for internal combustion engines at POWER-GEN International 2012 in Orlando, Florida, on December 11-13, 2012. The Catalysis & Energy business became part of Clariant in 2011 through the acquisition of Süd-Chemie. Its extensive portfolio of oxidation catalysts, diesel particulate filters and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) blocks are manufactured in Needham, Mass., a former Süd-Chemie facility. This site, located outside Boston, is Clariant憇 North American center for all engine emission control catalysts. It comprises research and development, analytical labs and a diesel engine test lab and catalyst rejuvenation facilities.
At booth #3635, Clariant Catalysis & Energy will display its solutions for reducing harmful exhaust emissions from natural gas and diesel engines used for electrical power generation. These include three-way catalysts (non-selective SCR) for rich burn gasoline and natural gas engines, oxidation catalysts for lean burn natural gas engines, diesel oxidation catalysts and diesel particulate filters (CARB Level 3Plus verified).
These catalysts have enjoyed a long history of success in helping customers bring internal combustion engines of all types into compliance with various federal, state and regional regulations, including Tier 4, New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (RICE NESHAP).

Spinoza has clearly explained the doctrine of animal automatism, and shown it to be perfectly conceivable;569 but he has entirely omitted to explain how the parallel influence of one thought (or feeling) on another is to be understood; for although this too is spoken of as a causal relation, it seems to be quite different from the logical concatenation described as the infinite intellect of God; and to suppose that idea follows from idea like movement from movement would amount to a complete materialisation of mind; while our philosopher would certainly have repudiated Mr. Shadworth Hodgson’s theory, that states of consciousness are only connected through their extended substratum, as the segments of a mosaic picture are held together by the underlying surface of masonry. Nor can we admit that Spinoza entertained the theory, now so popular, according to which extension and consciousness are merely different aspects of a single reality. For this would imply that the substance which they manifest had an existence of its own apart from its attributes; whereas Spinoza makes it consist of the attributes, that is to say, identifies it with their totality.
